Free Speech Systems’ bankruptcy counsel, CRO removed by court

Olympia, Wash., Sept. 21 – Free Speech Systems LLC is blocked from retaining Shannon & Lee LLP as bankruptcy counsel and W. Marc Schwartz as chief restructuring officer, according to two orders filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

The court did allow Ray Battalia, PLLC to serve as bankruptcy counsel to the debtor.

In addition, the court expanded the duties of the Subchapter V trustee assigned to the case. The trustee is directed to investigate the debtor and file a report as soon as possible.

Austin, Tex.-based Free Speech Systems, fully owned by Alex Jones, filed bankruptcy on July 29 under Chapter 11 case number 22-60043.
