Guidant launches wireless heart failure system

New York, Oct. 31 - Guidant Corp. said it launched its Contak Renewal 3RF cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator in the United States, a device that will be bundled with its Latitude Patient Management to allow wireless automatic uploads of data.

The Indianapolis-based medical device

company said there will be no ongoing charges for the combined product.

The device monitors patients at home and uploads the data daily to the doctor at preset times.
