Guggenheim's series 831 portfolio invests in information technology

San Diego, Oct. 27 - Guggenheim Defined Portfolios, Series 831 has registered units of its series 9 Technology Portfolio, according to an S-6 amendment filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The depositor is Lisle, Ill.-based Guggenheim Funds Distributors, Inc.

The trust seeks to maximize total return through capital appreciation by investing in a portfolio of 40 stocks classified as being in the information technology sector.

On the Oct. 26 inception date, the trust was comprised of $148,416 in sponsor's contracts to purchase the underlying securities. Each of the 14,992 units is priced at $10 and has a net asset value of $9.525.

The units carry a maximum sales fee of 3.95%, which is comprised of an initial sales fee of 1%, a deferred sales fee of 2.45% and a creation and development fee of 0.5%. Sales charge reductions of up to 1.5% of the public offering price are available based on the amount of the investment.

The trust is scheduled to terminate on Oct. 23, 2013.
