Generex posters highlight alternative insulin delivery

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 15 - Generex Biotechnology Corp. will make two poster presentations of recent clinical data at the 42nd annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The first poster reports the results of a clinical trial demonstrating that the Generex Metformin Gum displays a pharmacokinetic profile similar to that of the metformin tablets, showing promise as an alternative method of delivering metformin.

Interim results of a long-term study of Oral-lyn in adolescents with type 1 diabetes are highlighted in the second poster. The results indicate that Oral-lyn can effectively replace prandial subcutaneous injections of regular insulin.

Toronto-based Generex develops drug-delivery systems and technologies.
