By Jennifer Chiou

New York, Oct. 7 - Galapagos NV announced it received a third U.S. patent for its "high throughput screening of gene function using adenoviral libraries for functional genomics applications."

This patent protects the method of determining the function of a nucleic acid and extends the patent life until 2019.

The first two patents claimed the adenoviral library and its production.

Based in Mechelen, Belgium, Galapagos is focused on drug discovery for the treatment of bone and joint diseases.
