Goldman plans digital notes with 85% threshold linked to MSCI EAFE

Chicago, Oct. 19 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% 24- to 27-month digital notes linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B2 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
If the index finishes at or above the 85% threshold level, the payout at maturity will be the maximum settlement amount of $1,117.40 to $1,138.00 for each $1,000 principal amount. The exact cap will be set at pricing.
Otherwise, investors will lose 1.1765% for every 1% decline beyond 15%.
