Scotiabank plans buffered participation notes tied to MSCI EAFE

New York, July 18 - Bank of Nova Scotia plans to price 0% series A buffered participation notes with a digital coupon linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
If the index finishes at or above 90% of the initial level, the payout at maturity will be par plus the digital coupon of 9.15% to 10.75%.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and will lose 1.1111% for each 1% decline beyond 10%.
The notes (Cusip: 064159437) are expected to settle on July 25.
Scotia Capital (USA) Inc. is the underwriter with Goldman Sachs & Co. as dealer.
