HSBC plans one-year buffered return enhanced notes tied to MSCI EAFE

Chicago, Feb. 26 - HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered return enhanced notes due March 19, 2014 linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.5 times any index gain, up to a maximum return of 10.575%.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and will lose 1.1111% for each 1% decline beyond 10%.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the underwriter, and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC is the agent.
The notes will price on March 1 and settle on March 6.
The Cusip number is 40432XCC3.
