New Issue: Scotiabank prices $5.54 million capped buffered participation notes linked to MSCI EAFE

Chicago, Aug. 31 - Bank of Nova Scotia priced $5.54 million of 0% series A capped buffered enhanced participation notes due Sept. 10, 2014 linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to an SUPPL filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus double any index gain, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,200 per $1,000 principal amount.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 20% and will lose 1.25% per 1% decline beyond 20%.
Scotia Capital (USA) Inc. is the underwriter with Goldman Sachs & Co. as dealer.
