MPC Computers requests three-month exclusivity period extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, June 3 - MPC Computers, LLC is seeking a second extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and to solicit votes on the plan, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period to Sept. 4 from June 4 and the solicitation period to Nov. 3 from Aug. 3.

According to the release, MPC needs more time to collect receivables in connection with its liquidation, to evaluate all of its claims and to negotiate the terms of a plan.

A hearing is scheduled for June 30.

MPC, a major U.S. personal computer vendor since 1991, provides enterprise internet technology hardware services to mid-sized businesses, government agencies and education organizations. The company filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 6, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-12667.
