Montpelier Re files automatic shelf covering stock and debt securities

Knoxville, Tenn., June 8 - Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3 ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers common shares, preference shares, debt securities and warrants, along with common shares offered by selling shareholders.

The debt may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for working capital, capital expenditures, acquisitions and general corporate purposes, as well as to refinance debt.

The insurance and reinsurance company is based in Pembroke, Bermuda.
