Molson Coors to offer C$500 million seven-year notes; NextEra loan for wind energy project

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 29 - The Molson Coors Brewing Co. intends to offer C$500 million in seven-year senior notes priced through a subsidiary of the company, according to an 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will be sold to certain Canadian accredited investors on a private placement basis and they will not be offered for sale in the United States absent a registration or exemption.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to refinance a portion of current debt and for general corporate purposes.

Molson is an alcoholic beverages company with corporate offices in Denver and Montreal.

NextEra Energy Resources, LLC subsidiary, Wild Prairie Wind, LLC, has obtained about $297 million in financing for wind energy projects in Iowa and South Dakota.

The limited-recourse term loan has a variable interest rate, matures in September 2028 and is secured by liens on the wind generation assets, associated transmission facilities and the ownership interest in Wild Prairie Wind, , a company news release said.

The proceeds will be used to reimburse, in part, capital contributions made by NextEra Energy Resources to develop and build the wind assets and associated transmission lines.

NextEra Energy Resources, a subsidiary of Juno Beach, Fla.-based NextEra Energy, is a clean energy company.
