Moody's gives Microsoft notes Aaa

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a Aaa rating to Microsoft Corp.'s $1.15 billion convertible senior note issuance. Proceeds will be used to repay outstanding short-term indebtedness and for general corporate purposes.

The outlook is stable.

The rating reflects the company's position as the world's largest software company with strong and defensible market positions throughout its diverse core product offerings, excellent liquidity and modest financial leverage, Moody's said.
