Metalforming asks court to adjourn hearing on disputed $2.19 million GM administrative claim

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, April 24 - Metalforming Technologies, Inc. requested court approval to adjourn a hearing on General Motors Corp.'s request for payment of a $2.19 million disputed administrative claim under the company's confirmed liquidation plan, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

According to the motion, GM says it is entitled to payment on the claim for damages arising from five purchase orders that were not assigned under the company's sale of substantially all of its assets.

The hearing is currently scheduled for May 8.

Metalforming contests GM's claim and said it asked GM to provide all its evidence in connection with the motion and to adjourn the hearing so the information can be reviewed.

According to the motion, GM has not responded to either request.

Metalforming, a Chicago-based automobile parts manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on June 16, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-11697.
