Moody's affirms MassMutual

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed, with a stable outlook, the Aa2 insurance financial strength rating of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. and its insurance operating subsidiaries.

The agency said the affirmation is based on the mutual insurer's leading position in the individual life insurance market, excellent capital position, solid financial flexibility and diversified auxiliary businesses.

Moody's said MassMutual also benefits from being one of the few life insurance companies focusing on serving the affluent market still organized as a mutual.
