New Issue: Goldman Sachs prices $8.6 million step-up notes with 3.25% initial rate

Tacoma, Wash., Dec. 16 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. priced $8.6 million of callable step-up fixed-rate notes due Dec. 20, 2016, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The interest rate is 3.25% in years one and two, 4.25% in year three, 5.25% in year four and 6.5% in year five. Interest is payable semiannually.
Beginning June 20, 2012, the notes are callable at par on March 20, June 20, Sept. 20 and Dec. 20 of each year.
Goldman Sachs & Co. and Incapital LLC are the underwriters.
