New Issue: Goldman Sachs sells $9.78 million leveraged notes linked to MSCI EAFE

Chicago, Oct. 20 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. priced $9.78 million of 0% leveraged equity index-linked notes due May 9, 2012 linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus triple any index gain, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,280.50 per $1,000 principal amount.
Investors will be exposed to any losses.
Goldman, Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
