GenOn Energy plan confirmation hearing adjourned; vote count announced

Pittsburgh, Nov. 9 – GenOn Energy, Inc.’s plan of reorganization confirmation hearing was adjourned to Nov. 28 from Nov. 13, according to a notice filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Hearings on approval of a global settlement and omnibus claims procedures will be held on the same date.

According to a separate notice filed Thursday with the court, GenOn’s second amended plan was accepted by a majority of voting creditors.

A total of 521 holders, or 96.48% in number, of $1,754,756,891, or 99.57% in amount, of GenOn notes claims voted to accept the plan, while 19 holders, or 3.52% in number, of $7.62 million, or 0.43% in amount, of those claims voted to reject it.

In addition, a total of 180 holders, or 95.24% in number, of $592.8 million, or 99.98% in amount, of GenOn Americas Generation LLC notes claims voted to accept the plan, while nine holders, or 4.76% in number, of $119,752, or 0.02% in amount, of those claims voted to reject it.

GenOn, a Princeton, N.J.-based power producer, filed bankruptcy on June 14. The Chapter 11 case number is 17-33695.
