By Devika Patel
Knoxville, Tenn., March 13 - Oppenheimer & Co. said it has hired Michael Miller as a managing director of high-yield bond trading.
He will cover utilities, paper, cable & broadcasters, intelsat, autos, convenience/drug stores and lodging.
Miller was a managing director at UBS Investment Bank. Before joining UBS, he was a managing director at Morgan Stanley & Co. and president of Morgan Stanley's special situations group. He spearheaded the growth of the firm's distressed bond and loan business.
"I am pleased to have Michael join our high-yield effort. He brings additional leadership, experience and market knowledge to our high-yield trading desk," Oppenheimer's senior managing director of taxable fixed-income trading Robert S. Lowenthal said in a press release.
Oppenheimer is a Toronto-based provider of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services.
