Imperial Capital hires four to its senior fixed-income sales teams

By Tali David

Minneapolis, April 30 - Imperial Capital Group, LLC added four senior sales hires to Imperial Capital, LLC, its U.S.-based investment banking platform, and Imperial Capital (International) LLP, its U.K. affiliate, according to a press release.

The hiring of these senior fixed-income sales professionals is designed to drive the franchise's fixed-income capabilities to institutional investors in the United States and the European Economic Area, the release said.

In the United States, Imperial Capital, LLC's High Yield Sales & Trading Group added veteran fixed-income sales managing director Kevin King, and its High Grade/Hybrid Sales & Trading Group hired senior fixed-income professionals Jim Mannino and Peggy Turner, both managing directors.

Imperial Capital (International) LLP hired Sally Badie, a senior sales professional focused on fixed income for its European franchise as a managing director in the London office.

"We have focused Imperial's fixed-income sales growth on hiring seasoned professionals to join our existing core business," president Tom Corcoran said in a news release.

"The capabilities these senior veterans bring to Imperial expand our existing fixed-income franchise and help us to better serve the European and U.S. institutional investor community. Imperial now has over 40 fixed-income sales professionals combined with 11 fixed-income senior traders together in the U.S. and the U.K. with continued expansion plans in 2013. Our employee base now has over 230 professionals."

King brings more than 20 years of fixed-income experience to Imperial's franchise. Prior to joining Imperial, King was a managing director at Barclays. Before that, he was a senior vice president at Lehman Brothers. King also spent six years in London, four of which were as a director for Deutsche Bank Securities, and two with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corp., with whom he had previously worked for in New York.

With more than 15 years of fixed-income experience, Mannino was most recently a managing director at Knight Capital Group. Before that, he was a director at Merrill Lynch in their fixed-income sales and trading group and also spent a significant part of his career at Credit Suisse in their fixed-income sales group and at Dean Witter as a municipal bond trader.

Turner joins Imperial from Knight Capital Group. She has over 13 years of fixed-income experience, with the bulk of her career spent at UBS Investment Bank on the investment-grade sales desk.

Badie joins Imperial Capital (International) LLP with 15 years of fixed-income sales experience and most recently was a partner in credit hedge fund sales and euro credit financial trading at Chalkhill Partners LLP. In addition, she worked in credit hedge fund sales at Royal Bank of Scotland in London as a managing director and for Christopher Street Capital. Badie spent the bulk of her career with Merrill Lynch International as a director of credit hedge fund sales.

Imperial Capital is an investment banking firm based in Los Angeles.
