Filmed Entertainment exclusive solicitation period extended to Aug. 5

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 27 – Filmed Entertainment Inc. obtained an extension of its exclusive period to solicit votes on its liquidation plan, according to an order filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The exclusive vote solicitation period was extended to Aug. 5 from July 6.

Filmed Entertainment said in the motion that the vote solicitation period was set to expire almost a month before the deadline for voting on the liquidating plan and two months before the plan confirmation hearing.

As a result, the company said it needed more time to solicit and tabulate votes on the plan.

Based in New York, Filmed Entertainment’s subsidiary Columbia House is a direct marketer. The company filed for bankruptcy Aug. 10, 2015 under case number 15-12244.
