Family Christian gets four-month extension of exclusive plan periods

Pittsburgh, June 10 – Family Christian, LLC received a four-month extension of its exclusive Chapter 11 plan filing and solicitation periods, according to an order filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan.

The company’s exclusive filing period was extended to Oct. 9 from June 11 and its solicitation period to Dec. 8 from Aug. 10.

Family Christian said that “it will be impossible to develop a plan in light of the sale process and the uncertainty associated therewith,” according to the motion.

Family Christian, a Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer, filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 11. The Chapter 11 case number is 15-00643.
