FiberMark asks court to extend exclusivity

By Jeff Pines

Washington, Jan. 13 - FiberMark Inc. asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Vermont Thursday to extend its exclusive right to file a reorganization plan to Feb. 15.

Its exclusive right to file a plan is currently scheduled to expire on Jan. 15, but creditors have until Jan. 20 to submit their votes and the company's confirmation hearing is not for another 12 days.

FiberMark, a Brattleboro, Vt.-based specialty paper company, asked the court to set the extension hearing for the same day as its Jan. 27 confirmation hearing and for a bridge order to cover it from Jan. 15 to Jan. 27.

FiberMark filed for bankruptcy on March 30, 2004. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-10463.
