Federal-Mogul reports $5.5 million in March net earnings

Pittsburgh, April 27 - Federal-Mogul Corp. reported $5.5 million in net earnings for March on $295.1 million in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The figures compare to $8.2 million in net earnings for February on $250.5 million in net sales.

Cash and cash equivalents on March 31 were $59.8 million, compared with $64.5 million on Feb. 28.

Federal-Mogul, a Southfield, Mich.-based auto parts manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 1, 2001. Its Chapter 11 case number is 01-10578.
