Federal-Mogul reports $12.1 million in September net earnings

Pittsburgh, Oct. 31 - Federal-Mogul Corp. posted $12.1 million in net earnings for September on net sales of $249.3 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

In comparison, the company reported a $10.4 million August net loss on $283.8 million of net sales.

Cash and cash equivalents on Sept. 30 jumped to $86.6 million from $52.3 million at the end of August.

Federal-Mogul, a Southfield, Mich.-based auto parts manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 1, 2001. Its Chapter 11 case number is 01-10578.
