Highland Capital hires loan, high-yield bond trader Chris Hayes

Norfolk, Va., Sept. 9 – Highland Capital Management, LP announced the hiring of Chris Hayes as a loan and high-yield bond trader, according to a press release.

He will report to Josh Terry, head of structured products and trading, and will be based in Dallas.

Hayes will act as Highland’s primary bank loan, high-yield bond & CDS trader for Highland’s CLOs, hedge funds, mutual funds and separate accounts trading in the primary and secondary markets. He will be responsible for trade execution and identifying new trading and investment opportunities for portfolio managers.

“Chris' deep experience as a credit trader across a wide range of fixed-income securities makes him a great addition to the Highland team,” Terry said in the release.

“With the increased activity we are seeing in these markets, Chris' relationships and understanding of numerous trading platforms will further enhance our ability to provide clients market leading services.”

Hayes has more than eight years of financial market experience, most recently working as a fixed-income trader at Neuberger Berman. Before that, he worked as a trader at Federated Investors, Inc. and HSBC Securities. Hayes began his career in portfolio construction at J.P. Morgan Private Bank.
