Kroll acquires Talbot Hughes McKillop

By Ellen Chang

Houston, Jan. 26 - Kroll Inc. announced it has acquired Talbot Hughes McKillop LLP, a financial restructuring practice operating in Europe and the United States.

The firm's management and staff are joining Kroll's Corporate Advisory & Restructuring Group. They will be merged with Kroll's existing restructuring team in Europe and the combined restructuring unit will be known as Kroll Talbot Hughes.

Talbot Hughes McKillop's partners have handled many of the largest restructurings in the United Kingdom and European markets such as Marconi, KWELM, Le Meridien, Cordiant and Energis, Kroll said.

"The addition of Talbot Hughes McKillop significantly strengthens and expands our restructuring capabilities in the European market," Paul Horn, the head of European restructuring at Kroll's Corporate Advisory & Restructuring Group, said in a press release. "Central to this is the ability to place chief restructuring officers into distressed corporates. We now cover everything from the mid-corporate market to the largest, most complex international projects and have vast experience of working both with creditors and debtors in distressed situations."

Kroll, a unit of Marsh & McLennan Cos., Inc., provides services to help clients reduce risks, solve problems and capitalize on opportunities. Its Corporate Advisory & Restructuring Group offers operational turnaround, strategic advisory, financial management, corporate finance, corporate recovery services and cross-border restructuring services through Kroll Ltd., headquartered in London, and Kroll Zolfo Cooper LLC, headquartered in New York.
