Seligman reports purchase of Catalyst Semiconductor shares

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 28 - Investors led by J.&W. Seligman & Co. Inc. bought 22,500 shares of Catalyst Semiconductor, Inc.'s stock on Jan. 18 priced at $3.5755 each.

As a result, the investors upped their stake in the company to 11.8% from 11.7% and their share ownership to 1,996,866 from 1,974,366.

The transaction was reported in a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

On Jan. 11, the investors reported the purchase of 412,600 Catalyst shares between Nov. 12 and Jan. 9 priced from $3.75 to $6.00.

Based in Santa Clara, Calif., Catalyst designs and markets reprogrammable non-volatile memory products and analog/mixed-signal semiconductor products.
