San Francisco archbishop receives another exclusivity extension

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., March 6 – The Roman Catholic Archbishop of San Francisco secured another extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to an order filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California.

The court extended the exclusive plan filing period by 95 days through June 25 and the exclusive solicitation period by 95 days through Aug. 26.

“The debtor believes that the relief requested is necessary and appropriate given the early stage of the case, the complexity of the case, the steady progress in the post-petition management of the case, and the progress toward developing a process to facilitate a plan of reorganization,” the archbishop said in the motion.

The San Francisco-based archbishop filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Aug. 21, 2023 under case number 23-30564.
