Lordstown Motors eyes second extension of exclusive plan periods

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Jan. 30 – Lordstown Motors Corp. has asked for a second extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company asked the court to extend both the exclusive plan filing period and the exclusive solicitation period through April 1 from Jan. 31.

The company has already filed a Chapter 11 plan, as previously reported.

“The debtors believe that, in light of the progress made in these Chapter 11 cases, it is reasonable to request an extension of the exclusivity periods to maintain the status quo while the debtors work to achieve confirmation of the plan,” the company said.

The Lordstown, Ohio-based electric vehicle maker filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on June 27, 2023 under case number 23-10831.
