Kidde-Fenwal seeks 120-day extension of exclusive plan periods

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Sept. 11 – Kidde-Fenwal, Inc. is seeking a 120-day extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, the company asked the court to extend the exclusive plan filing period through Jan. 9 and the exclusive solicitation period through March 9.

The company said discussions with the debtor’s key stakeholders have been ongoing and robust, but given the sale process and continuing investigations by the debtor, the official committee of unsecured creditors and other stakeholders, more time is necessary to develop and negotiate a plan of reorganization.

A hearing on the exclusivity extension is scheduled for Sept. 27.

The industrial fire detection and suppression company is based in Ashland, Mass. The company filed bankruptcy on May 14 under Chapter 11 case number is 23-10638.
