Virgin Orbit gets OK to sell some assets to Firefly for $3.8 million

Olympia, Wash., June 27 – Virgin Orbit Holdings, Inc. secured approval to sell all the inventory at its Conant and McGowen facilities to Firefly Aerospace, Inc. for $3.8 million, according to an order filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
No backup bidder was chosen for the assets, which were up for auction along with the debtor’s other assets, as previously reported.
Long Beach, Calif.-based Virgin Orbit operates space launch systems. The company filed bankruptcy on April 4 under Chapter 11 case number 23-10405.
