Emancipation Capital invests in Captaris

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 31 - Captaris, Inc. investors led by Emancipation Capital, LP bought 488,637 shares of the company's stock between Nov. 30 and Jan. 29.

The shares were priced from $3.22 to $4.44 each.

The investors beneficially own 1,371,756 shares, or 5.1%, of the company's outstanding stock.

As of Jan. 29, Emancipation has spent $5.7 million to purchase its ownership interest in the company, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Captaris, based in Bellevue, Wash., develops software products that manage documents electronically and automate business processes.
