Diocese of Norwich seeks short exclusivity extension

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Jan. 12 – The Norwich Roman Catholic Diocesan Corp., known as the Roman Catholic Diocese of Norwich, is seeking a short exclusivity extension, according to a motion filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut.

Specifically, the diocese asked to extend the exclusive plan filing period through Jan. 17 and the exclusive solicitation period through March 16.

The court has previously granted six exclusivity extensions.

The diocese said it is still in various formal and informal negotiations regarding a consensual Chapter 11 plan.

The Norwich, Conn.-based diocese filed bankruptcy on July 15, 2021 under Chapter 11 case number 21-20687.
