Diocese of Rockville meetings, mediation to continue through August

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., June 29 – The Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre, New York will continue to hold mediation and meetings through July and August, according to a mediator’s report filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The mediator said the parties continue to participate in good faith in the mediation process.

As previously reported, last fall the diocese was ordered to mediate with its official committee of unsecured creditors and insurers.

The purpose of the mediation is to develop the primary terms of a Chapter 11 plan and address any other issues.

The Rockville Centre, N.Y.-based diocese filed bankruptcy on Oct. 1, 2020 under Chapter 11 case number 20-12345.
