By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 9 - Investors led by the D3 Family Fund LP reduced their interest in Brooks Automation, Inc. to 8.23% from 9.1% with the sale of 1,113,817 shares of the company's stock between Jan. 28 and Feb. 6.

The shares were priced from $4.62 to $5.43 each, according to a schedule 13D/A filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

D3 Family Fund and its affiliates beneficially own 5,232,989 shares of the Chelmsford, Mass., supplier of technology products and solutions to the semiconductor market.

In October, D3 Family Fund asked Brooks Automation to launch a share repurchase program as part of a long-term program to grow earnings per share and to increase return on invested capital by actively managing revenue growth, costs and capital structure, a prior SEC filing said.
