Luminor Bank gets OK to issue bonds under Estonian Covered Bond Act

Columbus, Ohio, Dec. 19 – Estonia’s Luminor Bank AS was granted a license by the European Central Bank to issue covered bonds under the Estonian Covered Bond Act, according to a notice filed with the London Stock Exchange.

Luminor is the first bank in the Baltic countries to receive such a license, the notice states, adding that the bank will disclose the plans for issuing covered bonds in due course.

Luminor is a bank created from the merger of Nordea Bank AB and DNB Bank ASA’s operations. Its headquarters are in Tallinn, Estonia.
