Gamco, Gabelli increase stake in Biosite to 7.69%

Charlotte, N.C., May 16 - Biosite Inc. shareholders led by Gamco Asset Management Inc. and Gabelli Funds, LLC purchased 424,934 shares of the company's stock between April 3 to May 15, priced from $84.14 to $94.70.

The investors beneficially own 1,313,834 shares, or 7.69%, of the San Diego-based biomedical company's outstanding stock, according to a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
