Danvers Bancorp's shareholders approve merger with Beverly National

New York, Oct. 9 - Danvers Bancorp, Inc. announced that its shareholders approved the company's merger with Beverly National Corp. at a special meeting on Friday.

Beverly shareholders approved the merger on Thursday.

Closing is scheduled for Oct. 30.

According to a prior press release, the number of shares of Beverly common stock voting to approve the merger agreement represented about 95.9% of the shares voted and 74.5% of the total number of outstanding shares.

Danvers is the holding company of Danversbank based in Danvers, Mass.

Beverly, Mass.-based Beverly is the holding company for Beverly National Bank.
