Shamrock reports 8.62% ownership of Websense

Charlotte, N.C., March 6 - Investors led by Shamrock Activist Value Fund, LP upped their stake in Websense, Inc. to 9.73% from 8.62% with the purchase of 510,000 additional shares of the company's stock.

The shares were acquired between Feb. 14 and March 5 for about $9.92 million, or an average of $19.45 per share, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The investors purchased 600,000 shares of Websense between Jan. 16 and Feb. 13 for about $11.11 million, or an average of $18.51 per share, a prior SEC filing stated.

Shamrock beneficially owns 4,421,965 shares of the San Diego web filtering solutions company.
