Charles River owns 5.1% of Verenium

Charlotte, N.C., March 12 - Verenium Corp. investors led by Charles River Partnership XII, LP bought 439,941 shares of the company's stock on Feb. 29 at an average price of $2.87 per share.

The investors also purchased 409,864 shares on March 3 at an average price of $3.00 per share.

Charles River and its affiliates beneficially own 3,235,831 shares, or 5.1%, of the company's outstanding stock.

Based in San Diego, Verenium is a developer of specialty enzymes used in alternative fuel, industrial, health and nutrition processes.
