Bank of America reports 5.7% investment in Varian

Philadelphia, Feb. 11 - Bank of America Corp. reported an investment of 5.7% in Varian Inc. as of Dec. 31, according to an SC 13G filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

That represents a passive stake of 1,663,750 shares.

Varian is a Palo Alto, Calif., maker of scientific instruments and vacuum products.
