Fitch affirms Small Business

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Small Business Corp.'s long-term foreign-currency rating at A+, long-term local-currency rating at AA, short-term foreign-currency rating at F1 and long-term debt rating of its fixed-rate notes issue at A+.

The outlook remains stable.

Although its role as a lender to small- and medium-sized enterprises is small in relation to total bank lending to the sector, its loan restructuring, technical and other developmental support for this sector plays an important role, Fitch said.

The demand for these government supported services should continue in earnest, given that the small- to medium-sized enterprises sector faces multiple pressures from the current economic slowdown, trade issues and the financial market liquidity squeeze, the agency said.
