Ritz Camera granted two-month exclusivity extension to negotiate plan

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., July 22 - Ritz Camera Centers Inc. received an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The exclusive plan-filing period was extended to Aug. 21 from June 22 and the solicitation period to Oct. 20 from Aug. 21.

According to the motion requesting the approval, the extension will give the company time to negotiate a consensual plan without having to rush through the process.

Ritz, a Beltsville, Md.-based specialty camera and image chain, filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 22. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10617.
