Response Biomedical's RAMP certified for anthrax detection in United States

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 5 - Response Biomedical Corp. said its RAMP Anthrax Test is certified as the first biodetection technology approved for field use by first responders in the United States for the detection of anthrax.

Obtaining the certification involved an intensive, independent testing program conducted by AOAC International and sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

RAMP was the only system to receive certification as an AOAC Performance Tested Methods and Official Methods of Analysis after reliably detecting Bacillus anthracis isolates.

Response Biomedical manufactures diagnostic tests in Vancouver, B.C.
