By Elaine Rigoli

Tampa, Fla., June 19 - RenaMed Biologics, Inc. has received a $2.3 million loan from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' emerging technology fund to implement commercial manufacturing operations in its newly leased facility in Westborough, Mass.

The company said it is expected to relocate to the Westborough facility, which will serve as its headquarters and commercial manufacturing facility for its renal bio-replacement therapy for acute renal failure, in the latter half of 2006.

RenaMed, located in Lincoln, R.I., is a clinical-stage company focused on the development of bio-replacement therapies for critical disease states involving severely compromised kidney function.
