New Century Energy gets extension on registration statement filing date for June 2005 note

New York, June 23 - New Century Energy Corp. has received an extension on the date by which it must file its registration statement connected to a June 2005 private placement of convertible notes.

This is the fifth such amendment to that date.

The company now has until July 17 to file the registration statement, moved back from June 15. New Century must have the statement declared effective by Sept. 15, pushed back from Aug. 15.

The notes in question were issued to Laurus Master Fund, Ltd. in principal of $15 million on June 30, 2005. The notes bear interest at Prime rate plus 200 basis points, are due June 30, 2008 and are convertible into common shares at $0.62 apiece.

Houston-based New Century is an oil and natural gas exploration and development company.
