Japan Bank for International Cooperation plans five-year green notes

Lexington, Ky., Sept. 26 – Japan Bank for International Cooperation kicked off fixed income investor calls on Monday for a dollar-denominated offering of five-year green notes, according to a market source.

Daiwa Capital Markets Europe, Barclays, Credit Agricole CIB and Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc are the bookrunners for the Securities & Exchange Commission-registered deal.

MUFG Bank, Ltd., London Branch, also acting through U.S. Bank Trust Co., NA as its U.S. representative, is the fiscal agent.

Mori Hamada & Matsumoto is counsel to the issuer. Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP is counsel to the underwriters.

Proceeds will be used for existing or future eligible green projects in the areas of renewable energy, clean transportation and green buildings, according to an SEC filing.

The financial institution is based in Tokyo.
