American Media amends 8 7/8%, 10¼% notes

By Laura Lutz

Des Moines, Aug. 21 - American Media Operations, Inc. entered into consent agreements with holders of 57.96% of its 10¼% series B senior subordinated notes due 2009 and holders of 65.32% of its 8 7/8% senior subordinated notes due 2011, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The agreements allow American Media to amend both note indentures to delay the deadlines by which the company must file some of its annual and quarterly reports.

The company is now required to file its 10-Q report for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2005 by Oct. 31, 2006; its 10-K report for the year ended March 31 by Oct. 31; its 10-Q report for the quarter ended June 30 to Dec. 15; and its 10-Q report for the quarter ended Sept. 30 by Jan. 31, 2007.

HSBC Bank USA, NA is the trustee for the notes.

American Media is a magazine publisher based in Boca Raton, Fla.
