AmCOMP reschedules special meeting date for Oct. 29

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 29 - AmCOMP Inc. will hold a special meeting of stockholders on Oct. 29 at 9 a.m. ET to vote on the company's proposed merger with a wholly owned subsidiary of Employers Holdings, Inc.

Record date for the meeting is Sept. 12, according to a schedule 14A filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The meeting, originally set for May 29, was postponed in order to address issues raised by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, the filing said.

AmCOMP shareholders will receive $12.15 per share under the companies' revised merger, it was reported previously.

Employers Holdings is a Reno, Nev.-based provider of worker compensation insurance to U.S. small businesses.

AmCOMP is a North Palm Beach, Fla., property and casualty insurer.
